Awesome! Exactly what I was looking for. Small update: today, when you apt-get install netatalk you get version 2.2.2-1 and it already contains the avahi-daemon. So no need to do the 2nd part anymore. Just install netatalk and your Finder shows the raspberrypi under “Shared” in the sidebar.

However, you can only connect with the “pi” user because it’s the only user on the pi (in a normal setup). So from the Mac you can only see that user’s home and files. Anybody knows how to connect to the Pi as root so that I can see/edit files like /etc/younameit, too?

How poorly the Tumblr App for iPad is designed! I wanted to make an edit to a former posting and this is what I got. Am I supposed to edit HTML code here? I’m sure I’ll make something wrong and break the HTML code.
And what happened to the screen size? Hello? I’m using a bluetooth keyboard on my iPad. Which is not that unusual, right? Why is there just a tiny little dialog with my text? What about the whole screen?
Come on, guys, you can do better!
